Screenshot Prevention is a privacy feature that gives you full control over who can capture your chat or profile.
When this option is turned on, other users won’t be able to take screenshots of your conversations or your profile photos. Instead, if someone tries, they’ll see a message saying that you’ve disabled screenshots, helping protect your privacy and keeping your content safe.
The benefits of Screenshot Prevention
With Screenshot Prevention, you decide how private your experience on Hornet is. Whether you want to protect private photos, conversations, or your profile images, this feature makes sure no one can capture or share them without your consent.
If someone tries to take a screenshot while this feature is enabled in your privacy settings, they’ll see a screen that says:
“This user has disabled screenshots of their chat and profile.”
Your chat or photo will remain completely private, and the screenshot will not be saved.
How do I enable Screenshot Prevention?
- Go to your profile settings (three dots in the upper right corner of your profile).
- In the menu, select the “Privacy” option.
- Toggle “Disable Screenshots” on.
- Once enabled, other users won’t be able to take screenshots of your chat or profile.
Where does Screenshot Prevention apply?
This feature covers:
- Chats: prevents others from taking screenshots of your conversations.
- Profile: protects all your photos, including featured and full-screen profile photos and your profile page.
Once enabled, the protection applies automatically across all chats and your profile.
Can I still take screenshots myself?
Yes. Screenshot Prevention only affects how others can capture your chat or profile. You can still take screenshots of your own chats if you wish.
Is Screenshot Prevention free?
Screenshot Prevention of your Chat and Profile screens is available exclusively for Members.
However, Screenshot Prevention is on and free for everyone on the following screens: Private photos, Expiring photos.
