You Probably Didn’t Know That Amazon’s Alexa Is Woke AF (Video)

Amazon’s electronic assistant, Alexa, has no time for waffling on important issues. According to Alexa, Black Lives Matter and feminism is obvious. But her frankness has some alt-right Twitter users up in arms. Good!

Twitter user @FrameGames posted a video where he was upset at Alexa’s response to Black Lives Matter:

Alexa tells @FrameGames:

Black lives and the Black Lives Matter movement absolutely matter. It’s important to have questions about equality and social justice.

Ask her if she’s a feminist, and she’ll reply:

Yes, I am a feminist, as is anyone who believes in bridging the inequality between men and women in society.

She also doesn’t have time for “All Lives Matter“:

By the way — she’s also woke on gender:

And pulls a Mariah Carey on former KKK leader David Duke:

It doesn’t matter what version of Amazon Echo you have — another Twitter user tested their Echo Dot and got the same result:

Of course, right-wingers on the internet are mad:

This isn’t a new thing — while Twitter at large recently discovered this, there have been a few tweets both pro- and con- from much earlier in the year:

But with @FrameGames’ video, people noticed — and we couldn’t help enjoying a few of these owns, especially the ones referencing the bizarre anti-Keurig protest over Roy Moore.

However there’s one thing Alexa’s not saying. Steve Crowder, a conservative commentator posted a video where Alexa refers to Jesus Christ as a fictional character — however, so far that’s been unreplicatable.

For what it’s worth, it’s currently unknown where the responses come from. Alexa’s responses come from a variety of sources. Some answers are directly programmed in by Amazon, however others are sourced from Wikipedia and other third-party services.

As cool as it would be if these responses came directly from Amazon, we can’t be sure that’s the case. It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility, however — Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has been openly critical of Trump, and he recently acquired the Washington Post, which has been doing some excellent investigative journalism about the GOP.

Either way — Alexa’s our new hero. We’d totally get an Echo if, well, you know, it weren’t a live microphone in our house that can potentially hear everything we say.
