With the success of the Magic Mike films and the recent lawsuit over Vivica Fox’s Black Magic, all-male revues have brought sexy back in a big way, but it isn’t always easy to find one. While many cities have go-go bars, few feature skilled dancers and striptease performers willing to bare it all and offer the occasional lap dance or more in private.
That’s why we found five of the best all-male American revues that’ll satisfy your thirst for some butt-shaking, crotch-bulging and eye-popping fun, no matter how frisky you want to get.
1. Buffboyzz (various cities)
Buffboyz, which bills itself as “a high-end male revue and strip club of male strippers for women and men,” puts on shows in a bunch of U.S. cities including New York City, Atlantic City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Houston, Boston, Miami and Los Angeles.
Their shows reportedly incorporate about 10 to 15 dancers from their large roster of diverse men and involve plenty of “audience participation” so that folks have a memorable experience. You can also rent out their performers for private birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties and corporate events. (Though we’re curious which corporations hire male strippers for their holiday parties — send them our résumés.)
2. Swinging Richards (Atlanta)
If you’ve ever been to Atlanta, you’ve undoubtedly heard of Swinging Richards’ fully nude strip club. The club is open six nights a week, has a laid-back atmosphere, mirrored walls, cruisey bathrooms and features a rotating selection of over 100 dancers.
It’s fun, but they’re serious about their rules: Women must be accompanied by at least one man, no bachelor or bachelorette parties are allowed, you cannot wear short shorts or open shirts, you cannot touch or photograph the dancers, there’s no catcalling and you must tip the dancers in their armbands.
But despite that, it’s still a sexy club to visit — someone even recently made a documentary about it. (Or would that be a cockumentary?)
3. The Floppy Rooster (Miami)
The Floppy Rooster is open five nights a week — sometimes as late as 5 a.m. — and has pretty much the same rules as Swinging Richards. However, unlike Swinging Richards, The Floppy Rooster accepts bachelor and bachelorette parties. They also regularly feature drink specials on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Their men fall largely into the beefcake category (though there are some slender-bodied dancers too). Large groups of up to 15 people can reserve one of the club’s stage-facing VIP booths, though they suggest reserving these booths up to a week in advance. The club is also located on the way to the airport, making it an excellent place to drop by before you fly out.
4. Adonis Lounge (various cities)
Adonis bills itself as the premier all-male strip show for men only and hosts a rotating roster of roughly 100 dancers for weeknight shows at local bars and nightclubs including The Stonewall Inn in New York City and Fubar in Los Angeles. (You’ll also find it in Palm Springs and Las Vegas.)
The revue prides itself in offering “classy trash” with a diverse array of dancers of different ethnicities and types: “from all-American muscle jocks to hot Latinos, twinks, Russians, brown sugar and even muscle bears.” Hot damn.
5. The Nob Hill Theater (San Francisco)
For 48 years, the Nob Hill Theater was one of the city’s only gay porno theaters, and now (thanks to the closure of The Tea Room in 2016), Nob Hill is the city’s only such theater. There’s still plenty to enjoy, including a video arcade with a diverse array of adult films and a cruisey infrared-lit downstairs playroom with gloryholes and curtained areas. They also allow men and women to access all areas, no questions asked.
That being said, The Nob Hill Theatre isn’t just a sex club or porno theatre; they also have an auditorium where you can watch big name porn stars and amateur performers strip and stroke to your delight — and unlike the other clubs, you can touch the performers. They also have themed nights like Naked Night and the regularly recurring Kingdom of Sodom party.
