Deadline reports that Billy Eichner will be joining the cast of the upcoming seventh season of American Horror Story.
Eichner is joining American Horror Story‘s upcoming seventh season in a heavily recurring role opposite returning AHS franchise stars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
Ryan Murphy loves to cast whoever is hot at the moment in Hollywood, so Murphy’s casting of Eichner represents the out comedian is bigger than ever right now.
Eichner just finished filming the fifth season of his very successful game show Billy on the Street that airs on TruTV. As an actor, he stars in the Hulu comedy series Difficult People and previously starred in NBC’s Parks & Recreation with Amy Poehler and Chris Pratt.
The seventh season of AHS has been confirmed to have a political theme. When Murphy was on Watch What Happens, Live he spilled the beans to Andy Cohen.
Murphy answered, “Well, I don’t have a title but the season that we begin shooting in June will be about the election that we just went through so I think that will be exciting for a lot of people.”
Then Cohen asked if there would be a Trump character.
“Ahhh, maybe,’ Murphy replied.
We’re not quite sure who Eichner will be portraying in the political horror story, but we are guessing perhaps a journalist? It would make sense since we’re already use to seeing a microphone in his hands for Billy on the Street.
Billy Eichner will play opposite Sarah Paulson. Paulson was in headlines this week for teasing fans about returning to her beloved character in American Horror Story: Coven.
“Probably Cordelia. We only got to see her just getting her powers,” Sarah Paulson said. “I just would like to know if the power might have been something that kind of changed her.”
“Maybe we’ll get to see that,” she added.
