A Brand-New Drag Brunch Treats L.A. to Top Queens and Bottomless Mimosas (Photos)

Your drag dreams have come true, Los Angeles! There’s no shortage of venues for treating yourself to a stellar drag show in the City of Angels, but famed nightlife promoter Brandon Voss has just brought Angelenos the drag brunch they’ve been clamoring for.

The all-new Drag Brunch debuted on Sunday, Sept. 24 at Viva Hollywood (formerly the Eva Longoria-owned spot Beso) to a packed house.

In addition to a buffet of Mexican breakfast eats, brunchers are treated to more than an hour of high heels and hilarity. Both Sunday performances each week (at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.) are hosted by the incomparable Vicky Vox. Though she hasn’t yet appeared on a season of RuPaul’s Drag Race (give it time), you probably know her as one-third of the drag triumvirate DWV that also featured Detox and Willam. She also made an appearance in the 2015 film Magic Mike XXL. No one hosts a show with more snarky wit than this live-singing firecracker.

With Vox at the helm, each week’s Drag Brunch is set to feature a plethora of Drag Race superstars. Already scheduled to make future appearances are Valentina, Shangela, Detox and Courtney Act. And that’s in addition to the regular crew of queens, which includes Manila Luzon, Laganja Estranja, Ongina, Gia Gunn, Jasmine Masters and Jessica Wild.

Los Angeles is merely the latest city to get a Voss iteration of Drag Brunch. Branches of the same event can currently also be found in New York City, Miami Beach, Las Vegas, Orlando and Fire Island.

“There is so much great drag talent in L.A.,” Voss tells us. “Most the RuPaul’s Drag Race girls live there, so it seemed the logical next choice for expansion. Plus we’re hoping for the same success we’ve had in Vegas, which has been our most popular location.”
