What starts out as a sweet video capturing the restless environment and frustrating love prospects of high school eventually turns to carnage and bloodshed—albeit off-screen—in this brand-new video by Sandy Hook Promise, an organization dedicated to preventing gun-related deaths.
We’re pretty sure you’ll never guess the 180-degree spin this video plays out in its two-and-a-half-minute span.
“When you don’t know what to look for, or can’t recognize what you are seeing, it can be easy to miss warning signs or dismiss them as unimportant. That can lead to tragic consequences,” says Sandy hook Promise’s Nicole Hockley to Adweek. “It is important for us to show youth and adults that they are not helpless in protecting their community from gun violence—these acts are preventable when you know the signs. Everyone has the power to intervene and get help. These actions can save lives.”
