On the Emmys red carpet on Sunday, TV Line interviewed RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley and Ross Mathews. During the short clip, the interviewer Michael Ausiello managed to name drop one diva, asking if Madonna will be a guest judge on the next season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
RuPaul doesn’t admit it — but he also doesn’t really deny it either, making some think that Ausiello could actually be on to something here.
The interviewer brings up that Lady Gaga, who graced the pink workroom last season, “is kinda tough to top.” RuPaul agrees, saying, “It is tough to top her. But I think we’ve done it. I really do.”
Ausiello obviously assumes Ru is talking about Madonna, as we all know how people love to compare the two pop superstars (and since she is the only person who who could possibly top Lady Gaga). He asks if it was true, that Drag Race had booked the Material Girl.
“I can’t saaay,” RuPaul says, laughing with a little twinkle in his eye.
Mathews, Visage and Kressley don’t do all too well of a job denying the rumors either. Mathews especially struggles with keeping a straight face, as he looks away from the interviewer’s gaze while cracking a smile.
Here’s a video of the crew discussing Madonna on RuPaul’s Drag Race
Since RuPaul didn’t say no, we’re gonna assume that Madge will be behind the judge’s table next season reading the queens to filth. It would make sense seeing as two previous seasons have had the queens rocking Madonna-inspired fashions on the runway.
Even if we’re wrong, we can’t wait for the next season of the show — it’s currently filming now.
RuPaul’s Drag Race didn’t end up taking home the Emmy on Sunday night, making us hope even more that next season is bigger and better so they can finally snatch the trophy they deserve so freakin’ much.
