Meet Fatima, our Director of Brand Partnerships for Europe and Asia!

Hey, Fatima! Tell us about yourself and your role at Hornet.

My name is Fatima, and I was born in Algeria. I have been living in Paris, France, since the age of 7. I started working for Hornet around four years ago. I started as a director of sales for France and developed my market, so I became the Director of Brand Partnerships for Europe and Asia. My mission is to help different companies and organizations reach the LGBTQ community.

What would you say is special about your time at Hornet?

Before I knew the company, I was introduced to Hornet’s CEO Christof. I loved our conversations, his mood, and his energy. My experience at Hornet has been enriching thanks to the people on our team. They come from all over the world and have different backgrounds that one can learn from. In this way you can discover different cultures without traveling, which is amazing! In the future, I hope that more people of different nationalities, genders and backgrounds will become part of our team.

Another thing that is special to me is Hornet’s culture. I remember during the lockdown the economy was very tough. Many companies decided to stop conducting business, others fired employees. Hornet did something very positive in this critical situation: we decided to keep all our employees onboard and maintain the business. We continued to work. That’s Hornet, we never give up!

What do you like most about your job?

To be honest, I think I enjoy everything about my job. I have grown in my work, starting with France only and then developing my market in Europe and Asia. Damien (Hornet’s financial controller) drives me really well and has pushed me to the top. Also, I’m excited to work for an LGBTQ company where I can not only express my work but who I am. Working in a community where you can feel comfortable around everybody is really important to me.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I love dancing and music. I have a collection of vinyl of different genres, like hip-hop, jazz and Arabic classical music. Football/soccer is also a great passion of mine. I founded a soccer team in France nine years ago. Our community hosts various events and encourages women and girls to play.

Last, what is your ultimate Paris travel recommendation?

If you come to Paris you should visit the neighborhood Montmartre. It’s very beautiful, and to me it represents France because of its history and culture. On one hand, you can find various historical places in Montmartre like the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. On the other hand, you will find markets, bistros and bars where you can meet a lot of interesting people. Montmartre is like a melting pot of people from different cultures and classes, which creates a certain vibe you do not want to miss out on.

Meet more of Hornet’s amazing international team in the coming weeks!
