New York Mets dildo twitter

The New York Mets Accidentally Tweeted an Image of a Dildo in a Team Member’s Locker (NSFW)

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that if you’re a photographer or videographer, at some point a dildo is going to sneak its way into one of your images. It happened to CNN and now it has happened to the New York Mets.

After a Friday night victory against the Miami Marlins, the official New York Mets Twitter account published a locker room picture of 28-year-old T.J. Rivera, an infielder who hit a game-tying double and a home run. They put a crown on Rivera and had him smile — yay! He’s tonight’s King of Baseball! Little did they realize that a large dildo also made it into their celebratory shot.

Can you see it? It’s kinda like the pictures from that “Subtle Dildo” Instagram account where you have to look to spot the hidden dildo; except in this case, it’s not so hidden.

If you didn’t spot it, it’s on the lower right in his teammate Kevin Plawecki’s locker. Twitter user Josh Khaflin spotted the sex toy, took a screen shot and re-tweeted it. Naturally, the Mets soon deleted the tweet and replaced it with a zoomed-in, dildo-free video of Rivera (bo-ring).

One Twitter user suggested that a team member might have planted it in Plawecki’s locker, but either way it implies that New York’s professional baseball players keep dildos on-hand for personal use or practical jokes. And that’s not a small one either — that is the sex toy of someone who has graduated from years of playing with smaller models.

Thus far, the Mets have not responded to interview requests about the sex toy, but we’re kind of happy that the photo exists. Pro-sports have a homophobic reputation, so the fact that players on a major American team might enjoy anal sex (or just sex toys in general) scores a home run with us.
