A Person was Shot at Tonight’s Milo Yiannopoulos Protest (Updated)

UPDATED 11:00 p.m. PST: Mayor’s statement.

A person was shot in the abdomen at the University of Washington campus tonight at a protest. Breitbart editor and white supremacist Milo Yiannopoulos spoke at the University of Washington today on his Dangerous Faggot tour.

Yiannopoulos took the stage at 8:25 p.m., and the shooting took place five minutes later at 8:30 p.m. Yiannopoulos briefly interrupted his lecture, but restarted it shortly thereafter:

His speech ended at 9:20 p.m., but Seattle Police held the audience for 20 minutes before letting them leave—after telling them to remove any pro-Trump hats or merchandise before they left the auditorium.

The victim’s name and condition have not been released, however the Seattle Fire Department said it was an 25-year old male with a possible life-threatening injury.

According to the Seattle Times, the police are searching for the gunman. They believe he is a 50-year-old man, who is an Asian who is 5-foot-7, 190 pounds, without facial hair, last seen wearing glasses, a yellow Champion baseball cap, a black leather jacket and possibly a maroon shirt.

Openly gay mayor Ed Murray released the following statement:
