Gay Porn in the Trump Age Tackles Issues of Race — Some Not So Well

Mainstream porn has long been racist. It largely excludes black performers, casts them as thugs and criminals and endlessly fetishizes their “big black cocks.” But these days there are instances of racism in porn becoming even more overt. Take, for example, the website Gay Patrol, in which “power hungry and horny cops take control of our black population and fuck them.”

Other films, including a recently released scene by Raging Stallion for the film Gun Show, take the opportunity to tackle racism and homophobia by making those issues part of the larger storyline.

On the site Gay Patrol, racist policemen rape black men

The website Gay Patrol touts itself as “Your source for the Real Dirty Gay Cops. These hot cops from Gay Patrol display their power by taking the law into there [sic] own hands, and punish these big black cocks with their assholes.”

Almost all of the site’s scenes involve white police officers apprehending and raping black men under duress. Sometimes the black man is the top, sometimes not.

While the scenes offer a very literal interpretation of “Fuck the police,” the racism in the site’s scene descriptions is unnervingly direct. In a Dec. 29, 2016, scene entitled “Get fucked by the police,” the black man is described as “a homie,” a “baboon,” a “jigaboo” and a “pickaninny porch monkey.”

The cops in Gay Patrol’s films may be gay, but the black men are not always. Depending on your fantasy, it may be hotter if they aren’t and are merely forced into gay sex at gunpoint.

In Gun Show, Trump supporters rape a Latin guy, who later gets the upperhand

The trailer for a scene from Raging Stallion’s Gun Show (obviously NSFW) shows two men entering a gun show wearing camouflage and baseball caps. One wears a red cap bearing a nod to Trump’s trademark slogan: “Make America Cum Again.” The other wears a shirt that reads “Deplorable Lives Matter,” a very real shirt that references Hillary Clinton’s remarks that “You can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables’ — racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it.”

In the scene, written and directed by porn veteran Steve Cruz, these Trump supporters walk up to Brazilian porn star Bruno Bernal and say, “Hey faggot. We’ve got enough fucking queers in this country. Why don’t you go back to your own fucking country?” They then proceed to pull him into a back hallway and force him into a sweaty three-way.

During the scene, the Trump supporters utter such lines as “I say we call ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) on his ass,” “Yeah, you’re gonna earn that visa, boy,” and, after Bernal ejaculates onto one of their faces, “Wipe that horchata off your face.” (Horchata is a Latin spiced milk drink.)

UPDATE: A previous version of this story failed to mention the scene’s conclusion, in which Bernal gets the upper hand and gets revenge. (That conclusion was unfortunately not teased in the scene’s official trailer.)

At the end of the scene, Bernal says, “Alright. You guys got what you were looking for. I’m fucking destroyed. Now leave me alone, yeah?” When the gents say that they’re not going to let him off that easy, he then steals their clothes and flicks them off, calling them “fucking assholes” and leaving the two in a maintenance closet and wondering how they’ll leave the gun show unclothed.

Is it all in the name of fantasy?

We could point out the irony of homophobic racists having sex with gay men of color, but there’s nothing surprising (or new) about racists and homophobes secretly, violently desiring those they hate.

Many gay men indulge in racist, homophobic and rape role play, and several underground sites like Raw Fuck Club and Boys Halfway House have even incorporated themes of rape and Trump supporters into their recent work. But is there a difference between someone consensually exploring such role play in the privacy of their own homes versus a studio that commodifies such scenes for wider public consumption?

Porn of course caters to a variety of fantasies, but should we be troubled by scenes like those by Gay Patrol that depict unnerving racism, even if it’s “all for the fantasy”? The real-world implications of these scenes seem troubling in an age where hate crimes rose sharply following Trump’s election and black men continually die on camera at the hands of white police officers.

And even if we take Gay Patrol scenes as mere fantasies, does the intended audience matter? Does it matter with whom the viewer identifies? While men should be free to enjoy power fantasies, wouldn’t it be best if we all understand what we’re eroticizing and why?

There’s also a clear difference between Gay Patrol, a site which aims to depict the gritty actuality of cops raping black men, and Gun Show, which presents a glossy, well-produced xenophobic rape-and-revenge fantasy that no one could ever mistake as real.

Whether they buy into the fantasy or not, viewers will either get turned on as the performers literally fuck political correctness in the ass, or as they roll their eyes at the cartoonish stereotypes of racist power — that is until their eyes eventually roll into the back of their heads during climax.

The author of this article didn’t watch the scene GUN SHOW. I think he only watched the two minute trailer and then posted the above as fact. But it is he opposite : It is a statement against racism and profiling. The white guys call a Brazilian immigrant a Mexican. The Brazilian calls them out as idiots and in the end he gets the upper hand which was the point. The joke is on the Trump supporters and on the idiot racist. You may not agree with my method but the point to anyone’s watching is clear. I’m disappointed in yet another sensationalist click bait article whipping us into a frenzy without even watching the content. Calling you out.
