Rick Santorum Unwittingly Makes A Case FOR Gay Marriage At Debate

Santorum confused at the GOP debate.

Rick “frothy mix” Santorum is no stranger to gay blog coverage, but it’s not usually for a headline like this. Take a listen to the former Pennsylvania Senator’s remarks on why gay marriage is a no-no from last night’s first GOP debate in Greenville, South Carolina.

Sure sounds like a case FOR gay marriage rather than one against it to us.

Thoughts?

He’s using the same language as the marriage equality movement, but he means a totally different thing by it (as in, same sex marriage infringes upon the freedoms of the religious). I don’t agree with his stance, obviously.

  • oh no… he hasn’t forgotten anything. everytime he says “everyone” you can see him mutter “who’s not gay” under his breath.

  • He’s about as charismatic as a lump of coal.

No he didn’t make an argument for gay marriage. You are only equal if you are WHITE & STRAIGHT & MALE … forget being black, mexican, chinese or any other ethnicity, forget being female and forget being anything other than STRAIGHT.

The day he supports gay marriage hell will be freezing over or it is discovered he has been taking it up the gary from his male lover and is forced out of the closet.

*rolls eyes* Obviously, everyone but the gay community, pro-choice supporters, people who (gasp!) don’t necessarily believe in his religion or any religion at all (or believe that religion should be very separate from the laws made governing our melting pot of citizens)- These people are entitled to be free and entitled to liberty and families. He just forgot to mention that… (LOL)

It just strips his gears to think about possible gay godless married people (or lesbian, or bi, or transgendered- but for brevity I am using gay as a general term for the LGBT community- sorry, typing from a phone and caps are hell) to have children through whatever means they decide. Or to him, worse yet is a god-fearing gay couple intending to marry and have children. How dare they!!! There are passages that he can quote, while ignoring other sections about stoning women, never masturbating, and don’t dare eat a lobster or pork! All about convenience.

Perhaps he forgets that there are people that are not Christian, or do not believe in his bible. The Nation is forged so that Everyone should be free to live a full life. Not just the WASP-y homophobics.

I think that @facebook-1426650683:disqus summed it up nicely in here last 2 posts. He only wants the American Dream for the select few he believes are Americans, only rich white bible thumping Christians that toe the line and believe as he does. Basically a goose stepping neo-nazi.

  • I love how he excludes ‘the pursuit of happiness’ quote. People have such a way of misconstruing and distorting everything to what they have to say. It’s terrible. -___-

  • I think he really means only when discussing HIS god, no? It’s the only one that counts I think.

  • That’s a great point, but the correct term instead of Mexicans is being Hispanic. We’re not all mexicans. 🙂
