Accused Pedophile Roy Moore Claims ‘Voter Fraud’ and Asks Alabama Court to Block His Election Loss

Roy Moore, the accused pedophile who recently became the first Republican in 25 years to lose an Alabama election for U.S. Senate, has filed a court complaint to block the state from certifying the victory of his election opponent Doug Jones. Jones beat Moore by more than 21,000 votes, but the Roy Moore election fraud claims say that “systematic voter fraud … improperly altered the outcome of this election.”

Uh-huh. Sure it did, Roy.

Luckily, state election officials have more or less said that they don’t believe Moore’s claims and will proceed with certifying Jones’ victory later today as originally planned. Even U.S. President Donald Trump, who endorsed Moore during the election, has said that Moore should move on.

Moore — who issued a bonkers video two weeks ago refusing to concede his Dec. 12, 2017 loss to Jones — says that Alabama election officials inadequately investigated claims of election fraud and that if Jones is certified as the winner, then Moore will “suffer irreparable harm” and be “denied his full right as a candidate to a fair election.”

That might be persuasive, except for the two following things:

1. The Roy Moore election fraud claims aren’t backed by actual proof

Mr. Moore’s court filing is reportedly dozens of pages long and argues that “confirmed election fraud” occurred in the state’s most populous county, Jefferson County, because the turnout was “suspiciously high” there. Furthermore, Moore’s lawyers have said that Jones benefitted from “voter intimidation” and that Moore’s other political opponents spread “lies and fraudulent misrepresentations” about him.

As proof, Moore’s complaint included affidavits from several “experts in elections” including one dude who “mathematically proved a conspiracy to assassinate” President John F. Kennedy. Moore also claims to have taken a lie detector test proving he never molested the then-teenage women who’ve accused him of doing so.

The state’s highest election official says that he has seen no evidence to back up Moore’s claims.

2. Roy Moore has proven he has no respect for the actual democratic process

It’s surprising that Moore wants courts to help him block the election results seeing as Moore has classically ignored court rulings requiring him to remove a 10 Commandments monuments from in front of the the state capitol building and a second ruling requiring the state courts to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

He was twice fired for refusing to obey the above court orders. But then again, at the time he was an Alabama Supreme Court justice himself, so perhaps he thinks courts are supposed to express his will. Either way, he’s wrong.

Update: A judge denied Moore’s claim and Doug Jones has since been certified as the official winner of Alabama’s 2017 special election for the U.S. Senate.
