The creation of video content is headlined by #FeaturedGuys, a group of some 1,000 carefully selected and diverse influencers on Hornet, to set an uplifting and inclusive tone. Gay travel blogger couple Stefan and Sebastien, better known as the Nomadic Boys, have crafted an audience of millions through their website and social media. On Hornet, they are creating bite-size travel videos about some of their favorite international destinations, a great new way for them to interact with their fans.
Loic Landry, who fled Cameroon and now calls London home, shares videos on Hornet of home workouts, cooking demos and the mental health advice videos he wishes he’d had when he was younger. “I hope my voice reaches users on a broader scale, with the goal that at least one person finds it helpful or that it makes him smile,” he says.
Rhys Stroulger, a vlogger who has over the years built up a following for his funny, endearing videos about gay life on TikTok and YouTube, is looking forward to getting to know his Hornet followers better — and sharing more about himself — through his videos. “I’m excited for the Hornet video feature because it’s taking a huge step forward into the mainstream and becoming a competitor for the likes of TikTok and Instagram. Also new in Version 7 is an option for users who prefer not to be presented in nearby searches of online profiles to be “off the grid.” This option allows gay men who are not looking for a date, for instance when they are in a relationship, to still connect to their community online, and meet like-minded people for chatting or networking.
