Cardi B Claims a Transphobic Meme on Her Official Facebook Page Was Posted by a Former Employee
The Facebook page for Cardi B recently posted a pretty blatantly transphobic meme. And while it has since been deleted — the rapper is blaming “a former team member” for its posting — the incident has resurrected past accusations of transphobia against her, specifically a 2017 video in which she joked about tricking a cheating boyfriend into a drunken threesome with “a tranny.”
On Sunday morning the Cardi B Facebook page published an image (below) showing a blunt-smoking, brown-skinned cartoon character with the caption “I hope nobody see this tranny leave my house,” accompanied by several emojis of crying faces, a skull and a man doing a facepalm.
On Sunday, Cardi B wrote via Twitter, “It’s come to my attention that there have been offensive posts made on what used to be my Facebook page. For the past year and a half a FORMER team member has been the only one with access to the account.”

It’s unclear why the Cardi B Facebook page was still under the control of a former employee fired 18 months ago. And even if the rapper herself doesn’t directly oversee her social media, the Cardi B Facebook page is still her responsibility.

Following the 2017 video in which Cardi B joked about having a threesome with a “tranny,” she responded by saying, “I didn’t know that was a word that you cannot use, especially because my trans friends use it.”
She also felt it was important to mention that her sister is a lesbian, though we aren’t sure why that should matter since plenty transphobia comes from segments within the LGBTQ community.
