Michael B. Jordan Is the Latest Hollywood Star to Wear a Harness on the Red Carpet

Is sporting a harness on the red carpet of Hollywood awards ceremonies the latest trend? It appears so, as Michael B. Jordan officially joins the roster of celebrities to recently sport the look, following figure skater Adam Rippon and Call Me By Your Name star Timothée Chalamet.
It was just less than a year ago, at the 2018 Academy Awards, when bronze medal-winning skater Adam Rippon stunned us all by sporting a deconstructed Moschino tuxedo designed by Jeremy Scott with a black leather harness underneath on the Oscars red carpet.
And it seems like plenty of people took note.
Earlier this month at the 2019 Golden Globes, Call Me By Your Name and Beautiful Boy star Timothée Chalamet sported a sequined harness on the red carpet (though Louis Vuitton, the house that designed the harness, has officially said it’s not a harness at all but an “embroidered bib”).
Yeah, right.
And now the latest instance of a celebrity sporting a harness — or a “bib” — on the red carpet is Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan, who opted for a bold, bright, watercolor-hued, LV-logo-featuring harness.
Unlike Chalamet, who sported a harness over his shirt with no jacket, Michael B. Jordan sported his over a double-breasted jacket, for a look that was … well, rather interesting.
Are we a fan of a harness on the red carpet? Not particularly, especially if the design house behind these latest two instances aren’t going to call it what it really is — a queer AF style choice that the fashion industry doesn’t get to de-gay just so straight actors feel comfortable wearing one.
It’s not a bib. It’s a harness. And, frankly, these celebrities look ridiculous sporting them on the red carpet. Feel free to @ me.
