Batman - Unicorn Booty

Batman, the world's greatest detective, is a character created in 1939 by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. (Bob Kane insisted on all the credit, but Bill Finger created most of the things you think of when you think of "Batman" — like the Joker.) Of course, Batman's been associated with the queer community as early as the 1950s, when in the infamous anti-comic book Seduction of the Innocent, Dr. Frederic Wertham referred to Batman and Robin's living situation as "a wish dream of two homosexuals." Batman's appeared in all forms of media. His first film appearance was in a 1943 film serial starring Lewis Wilson as Bruce Wayne. He's appeared on TV — most notably the campy 1966 series with Adam West as the Caped Crusader and the '90s Batman: The Animated Series (and its futuristic spinoff Batman Beyond) starring Kevin Conroy in the titular role. And, of course, there's books and video games, too. Whether your favorite Batman is in the comics, the TV shows, the Arkham games or the movies, you'll find all our Batman coverage here.
