Eyes on 'Empire' - Unicorn Booty
Fox TV’s Empire, created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, is the hit TV show about a hip hop mogul, his family, and the future of his business. The show stars Terrence Howard as Lucious Lyon, a former drug dealer-turned-rapper-turned-record label CEO, who’s desperately trying to hold it all together after recently being diagnosed with ALS and given three years to live. Now we know that so far it sounds pretty dramatic – and it is! Why else would we devote a good chunk of our website to the show? Love, love, love it.
Anyway, garnering nearly unanimous critical praise, and boasting some incredible performances, it’s no wonder that Empire has racked up a cabinet full of awards—including a best actress Golden Globe for the unforgettable Taraji P. Henson, who plays Lyon’s ferocious ex-wife, Cookie. Now in its third season, the show continues to dominate the primetime ratings charts even as it continues to spark controversy in the media—most of which centers around questions of race and homophobia regarding Lucious Lyon’s disdain for his gay son, Jamal. Here is all our coverage of Empire – browse away and see for yourself what all the fuss is about!
