Almost every gay or bi dude has lusted after a porn star. With pecs made of steel, abs carved from stone and asses made of helium, what’s not to love? But while we envy them, some of us haven’t the first clue about how to achieve the same level of hotness. That’s why we asked some of our favorite gay porn stars about their best fitness tips.

While some of them spend hours upon hours in the gym—perfection ain’t easy—others suggest small modifications that anyone can easily make to their own diet or workout. Whether you want porn star abs or just a change from your usual routine, take a look at the sexy stars and fitness tips below. You’ll burn a lot more calories taking their advice than you will crankin’ it to their films.

Not only was Zevran crowned “Gay Performer of the Year” at the 2017 XBIZ Awards, he’s also a Falcon Studios exclusive, an Andrew Christian Trophy Boy and an official Fleshjack boy. Basically, he’s like the poster boy for gay sexiness.

And though he was nice enough to share his fitness tips with us (because, c’mon, just look at him), he also admits, “My mind is the part of my health that I value most, because it requires discipline and willpower to get the results I’ve achieved and to continue making progress.”

“This helps me be a better performer because it gives me confidence in front of the camera,” he adds. “It also gives me confidence outside of the studio, and confidence is key with a great many things.” Indeed.

We asked him a little more about the workouts that have contributed to his confidence and sex appeal:

How do you prepare for a workout?

Sometimes I drink a pre-workout drink before heading to the gym. I’ll do about 10 minutes of cardio to get warmed up. And yes, I actually do pick out my gym clothes according to my workout. For example, I’ll wear shorter, tighter shorts on leg day or a more revealing tank-top on chest and back days. I think I care more about what I wear to the gym than I do about what I wear when I go out. (Honestly, I hardly ever go out.) When I’m in the gym, I always have my headphones on, usually blasting hard rock, metal or the latest circuit DJ podcasts.

What do you find most effective in your workouts? 

I shy away from giving fitness advice because, one, I’m not a trainer, and two, everyone is different. There are some general rules of thumb to follow, but the most effective plans of action are ones catered specifically to a person’s body type and genetics. Generally, I workout six days per week for about an hour and a half each session. I also eat roughly six meals per day. How big these meals are will depend on my goals, but they’re almost always loaded with calories, carbs and protein.

What do you do after your workouts?

Immediately following my workouts I drink a protein shake containing about 50 grams of whey protein. About half an hour later, I’ll follow up with one of my meals.

What other things do you do to stay healthy, fit or grounded?

I lead a pretty healthy lifestyle overall. I rarely drink (probably about once or twice every two months) and I put considerable time into planning my diet and fitness regimen. I highly value my time alone in the gym because I find it to be therapeutic. I also find the results to be rewarding in so many ways. I’ve always been very physically active, from my time in high school to my time in the Marine Corps, and on through my time in the porn industry up to now. Being physically fit is just part of who I am.

2. Adam Ramzi

Self-proclaimed performer, artist, healer and pervert Adam Ramzi has turned it out as a scruffy vers stud at Falcon, Cocky Boys, Raging Stallion and Hot House (to name a few). When he’s not busy filming scenes, hanging with friends  or stripping at gay bars, you can find him working out.

“The mental component is absolutely the most important for me,” Ramzi says. “There is a lot of pressure to be a certain body type in the porn industry, and it’s important to work hard, but be proud of what you have and not compare yourself to other performers.”

We caught up with him this past weekend to learn how he keeps his lean and lusty physique:

How do you prepare for a workout?

A cardio warm-up is good to get the blood moving, and stretching is extremely important. It’s important for everyone, of course, but you’ll actually notice how important once you hit your 30s. A pre-workout drink can also give you that extra push you didn’t know you needed.

What do you find most effective in your workouts?

The best advice I was given that will actually help achieve change is to try a certain routine for a month or so, and then switch it up. And this doesn’t only mean changing specific exercises, but also changing how you do them; rather than the usual “three sets of 10,” maybe play with how long you hold each rep or increasing the weight each set and making a concerted effort to push through those last, most difficult reps. Switching it up is key.

What do you do after your workout?

If there’s time for a stretch, it can never hurt to do so. Also, it’s important to get some protein in very soon after a workout, and I have made a routine of mixing about 30 grams of whey protein powder with a teaspoon of fiber, and a half teaspoon of maca powder. Makes me feel great!

What other things do you do to stay healthy or grounded?

I’m a big nerd for my juicer, and I love coming up with new juice combinations that are delicious and healthy.

3. Austin Wolf

How do you prepare for a workout?

I eat before and stretch. Probably should do cardio before, but I don’t. I take a pre-workout drink as well.

What do you find most effective in your workouts?

I think it’s good to be slow and controlled; hitting the negative as hard as the positive.  My workouts change every week on a six- to eight-week cycle, seven days a week, five days twice a day.

What do you do after your workout?

EAT EAT EAT! A shake then a meal. Then some mid-day sexy time with the BF, then a nap.

What other things do you do to stay healthy or grounded?

The assumption that I’m grounded, I appreciate that! [Laughs] Movies and friends, and just remembering there is more to life than my body and shooting videos.

4. Johnny V

Ginger musclestud Johnny V has bottomed for some of the biggest (ahem) names in porn in his sizzling scenes with Hot House, Raging Stallion and Falcon Studios. He even won a 2015 Grabby Award for Best Bottom—if you watch his work, you’ll understand why—though his upper body rocks pretty hard, too.

“The part of my body that I like the most is probably my chest and my abs,” Johnny V tells us. “I love pushing myself to the limit, in regards to my chest workouts, and I love the end result! I am trying to grow them even more these days; I want that ‘D’ cup!” Yes, something to work towards, eh?

How does fitness help you stay amazing? 

I would have to say that fitness in general allows me to be the best performer that I can be! If I did not have fitness in my life, I would be lost. Having a strict gym regimen, almost every day, allows me to get the results I need and the results I want. Also, weightlifting and training allow me to have the stamina I need to get through the long days of filming. Hard work pays off!

How do you prepare for a workout?

Before a workout, I eat a large, carb-heavy meal and I take a pre-workout supplement. I typically stretch after I get to the gym and before my first workout. Unfortunately, I do not run, but if I do, it is only for five minutes on the treadmill and a concentrated walk, just to warm up my knees.

I like clothes that show off my physique because when I see my pump in the gym, it motivates me more to hit the weights even harder and push myself until failure.

I go through phases in regards to listening to music … I will go a few months and listen to hard rock and the newest music on the radio, but then I will not listen to any music at all for a few months. I like to mix things up.

What do you find most effective in your workouts?

I find that taking a two-minute break in between each set is the most effective thing about working out. My philosophy is that one needs to push their body and muscle groups to the limit, but rest is key, as well. I particularly like working one muscle group a day (chest one day, biceps the next, etc.).

I workout for one-and-a-half hours a day, six days a week. I try to mix it up every once in a while, but I typically stick to the same routine. Mixing it up, however, stimulates growth.

What do you do after your workout?

After my workout, I typically stretch (full body, arms, legs, etc.) and head home to get a protein shake in. I usually am pretty horned after my lifts, so after the protein shake, I get on flirt4free.com and webcam a bit to show off my results. My energy levels are up, so this is the best time to get a few hours of work in!

I actually cook my own food; I am hung up on eating clean lately, so chicken breasts, brown rice and veggies it is! I also like a nice balance of sirloin and salmon in my weekly diet.

What other things do you do to stay healthy or grounded?

I drink a gallon of water a day; I try and make sure it is distilled water—the cleanest water out there. Also, when I have a consistent routine during the week, I tend to see positive results, like boosted energy levels, which allows me to get more work done throughout the day, and this routine allows me to be more grounded.

I would like to start meditating, but at the moment my patience level for that is minimal.

I like to cook, relax on my couch and watch a good movie or TV shows. I have also discovered that I am truly a homebody, but every once in a while, I like to have good friends come over or vice-versa. I am a big people person, but when I am able to be out of the limelight and have time to myself, I utilize it!

I am a huge late-night eater, also. I like my popcorn and ice cream every other night … or even every night, to be honest with you!

5. Bruno Bernal

If you’ve ever caught a glimpse of Bruno Bernal in a scene from Blake Mason, Raging Stallion or Men.com, then you already know about his high levels of energy and passion. He’s a completely versatile performer whose backside inspires as much lust as his front.

How do you prepare for a workout?

I eat six egg whites or chicken with some rice or potatoes, plus my supplements— Glutamine, BCAA, whey protein and a fat burn pill. It depends what I will be working out on that day. I like to always wear tank tops and small shorts; I have to see my body and focus on the results. It keeps me motivated. I listen to anything; my playlist is a mix between different type of songs.

What do you find most effective in your workouts?

I basically work out three hours per day, and now I’m trying to add one hour of cardio (StairMaster) separate from my workout—cardio in the morning and workout in the afternoon or evening. I don’t have a specific workout that I like most; I think one complements the other. Altogether it gives a good result.

What do you do after your workouts?

Depends of the day, but after my workout I eat carbs, proteins (chicken, eggs, potato, pasta or rice) plus supplements. I’ll also go home and shower.

What other things do you do to stay healthy or grounded?

I go to the beach, spend time with my white French bulldog, watch TV shows like Dateline, criminal and investigation shows, The Wendy Williams Show, America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, the news, etc. I also read news, like the BBC and Globo.com.

6. Tim Kruger

Tim Kruger is probably Germany’s most famous porn star, both for his large endowment and for his enthusiastic personality. To be honest, I’m not someone who likes to go to the gym, otherwise my body would probably look much more trained. But I think it´s important to stay fit, so I have a gym membership anyway.

I’ve tried many things, and at the moment the best thing that works for me is to train with a personal trainer. I see him three to four times per week and he helps me to stay a bit more motivated. And if I see some results, of course I’m happy about it.

Pre- and post-workout is usually just taking a protein shake. I like eating what I want, so following a special diet would make my life depressing and I’m not planning to become a bodybuilder so it’s fine I guess.

What other things do you do to stay healthy or grounded?

I like being outdoors, and Barcelona (where I live) is of course a great place for that. You have the beach and ocean right in front of your doorstep. In the warm months I usually hang out there with friends or have a BBQ on my terrace.
